Ready to invest in your well-being?
IF YOU ARE VATA:
- Establish a routine that you follow every day
As a creative person with an often busy mind, it’s easy for vatas to feel off-track and overwhelmed when left to their own accord. Sticking to an established routine will allow vatas to thrive and feel more at-ease and productive once this routine is set in place!
- Do one task at a time with your full focus
While vata’s tend to have a mind that is all over the place, it is easy to become distracted or want to work on multiple tasks at the same time. Remove yourself from ALL distractions and hit off one task at a time to fully thrive and bring your productivity back into balance.
- Practice grounding, structured, strength-building yoga poses such as sun salutations, warrior pose, and dancer pose
Vatas typically are high-energy and need tons of grounding to feel balanced and calm. Break up your day with a practice that brings you back down to earth.
- Meditate while sitting in a comfortable position with back support and focus through mantra or affirmation
Repetitive mantras or affirmations also calm an active vata mind. “Ohm”, I am peace, or a similar short phrase to focus your mind is a beautiful way to slow down, relax, and de-stress from your active mind.
IF YOU ARE PITTA:
- Set aside some time to rest (spend time in nature, with family, or with yourself disconnecting from your work)
Pittas are typically high-achievers who love structure, organization, and going all-out on their work! Finding balance through intentional time to rest, reset, and restore is vital to preventing burnout and over-doing yourself.
- Find a healthy way to release built-up anger and tension (e.g. exercise and dance)
When out of balance, pitta’s can experience anger, tension, and added stress. Do something fun! Let out a primal scream! Release the build-up and enjoy the gentle calm that can result.
- Practice yin yoga focusing on poses such as rag doll, reclined butterfly, and childs pose
These help to automatically activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System, “rest and digest” mode, slowing down your mind, relaxing your body, and allowing your to reset your energy.
- Meditate using visualizations and guided meditations
Pittas love structure, so grab some YouVeda Essential Oils, put on a guided meditation, and be swept into a place of bliss, calm, and relaxation.
IF YOU ARE KAPHA:
- Break a sweat first thing in the morning
Kapha’s often find that they feel sluggish in the mornings and have a hard time feeling motivated to jump out of bed. Sound familiar? Movement is your best medicine! If this is you, enjoy some fun, energetic, stimulating movement (dancing, working, out, exercise class) to give you the natural boost of energy to blast you through the rest of your day!
- Every week, try something new that is out of your comfort zone
When out of balance, Kaphas tend to be prone to laziness, boredom, and fatigue. An amazing way to keep life exciting, fun, and fresh is to explore something new! Challenge yourself and stretch into something outside of your comfort zone to keep the passion alive. You’ll thank yourself for it.
- Practice more active forms of yoga such as Vinyasa or power yoga
Kapha’s enjoy taking things easy and slow, but yoga flows that encourage strength and vitality are perfect for revving up your metabolic fire.
- Do walking meditations while scanning your body
Walking meditations allow you to keep your body moving while also remaining mindful. While walking, become aware of your breath, feel your feet touching the ground with each step, experience the temperature of the air on your skin, listen to the sounds around you in nature. Practicing this for 10 minutes per day will help you cultivate mind-body awareness, which will help you prevent burnout and thrive in your business.
The best way to incorporate these into your life is to add one practice at a time and build consistency before moving onto the next. Take it at your own pace, and enjoy reaping the results.
There are tons of things you can do to break up your day that make you feel amazing. Give yourself a break from your work every 90 minutes to allow at least 10 minutes to reset. What are some things you can think of to enjoy for 10 minutes?
Balance is all around you, always. Your mind, your body, and your business will thank you!
